Merman Back in the Water
Original Acrylic on Canvas
2 pieces 24" X 30" (24" X 60" overall)
$1295
The story behind this painting Merman Back in the Water
This painting is based on a dream I had nearly a decade ago. There was a man who lived amongst the Anishnabe People and one day he simply went into the water and swam away. This spirit came to me in my dream. I asked for guidance from an elder and he told me that this being did exist. This spirit is a very powerful spirit who is present in all waterways. I tried using minimal colours and a portrait like feeling to the painting.

Bear Clan Spirit

This painting is in honour of all Bear Clan women of Turtle Island. The green colours represent all life on Turtle Island and the blue and red colours represents all the fruit and berries that grow on Mother Earth. The brown colour represents all the healing powers of the roots which grow underground. When we collect medicines, we dig them out with our hands in the traditional way like the Bear. I would like to say Meegwetch to the Bear Clan Spirit Women.

Contrary
Original Acrylic on Canvas
Dimensions: 36 " X 24 "
$695
The story behind this painting Contrary
This painting turned out to be the opposite of everything that I wanted it to be. I wanted a buffalo and it looks like a domestic bull. I wanted the painting to be strong and serious and it turned out to be joy and festive. I wanted the painting to be masculine and it turned out looking feminine. This is a contrary spirit painting that reminds us all of the dualities of life and to accept the things we can change and can not change. We must always look to the positive aspects of life.

Brings Life to All
Original Acrylic on Canvas
Dimensions: 20" X 24"
$395
The story behind this painting Brings Life to All
This painting is representative of a Thunderbird and my attempt was. to paint the spirit in its simplest and pure form. I was not thinking of composition, form and colour; rather, I allowed my creativity to speak in this painting. I just allowed the composition to transform as spontaneously as possible and this is the result. The painting speaks for itself.

Woodland School Apprentice
Original Acrylic on Canvas
Dimensions: 24" X 36"
$695
The story behind this painting Woodland School Apprentice
This painting is in honour of all the Woodland artists that are out there. It is estimated that there are at least four hundred artists who are continuing in the Woodland style which was created by Norval Morrisseau, also known as Copper Thunderbird. As a student of the Woodland movement, I am learning and sharing my Anishinaabae culture with the world through my paintings. I hope that with sharing the healing colours and life lessons expressed in my paintings, I am sharing not only my art but a part of my soul. It is an honour to be a part of the conveyance of my Anishinaabae art form.

Circle of Strength
Original Acrylic on Canvas
Dimensions: 24" X 30"
$550
The story behind this painting Circle of Strength
Everything in the Universe was created in Circles. This painting is of self-reflection and meditation. The hummingbird represents the middle or inner soul of consciousness. The webbing in the Thunderbirds' wings portrays this concept. One can draw energy and enlightenment through prayer and offerings to the Creator. Colours of the rainbow surround the meditation, which uplift souls and create new circles of Life.
